SEO Website

More so you can rank number one in Google if you put to work the tips I’m going to share with you in this post.

This post will major help you with some page optimization tactics that will help your blog content or post rank on a search engine.

8 Tips to SEO your Website

  1. Give a unique title to every page of your website

The title of your pages is very important, it will be included in the search results.

Fill in each of them in the <title> tag of your Header and try to have a title related to the content of your page. Be careful not to have a title too long (60 characters maximum).

More so, your title is your click-through bet for your readers and as well a ranking signal. When you have a compelling title you tend to get more clicks than even pages that rank higher than you. Thereby making your page seem more valuable which will result in up ranking you by Google.

  1. Use a Compelling Description

In the same way as your title, the description (Meta description tag), must be related to your title. No need to overload this tag of keywords, this is not taken into account any more by Google or other search engines.

On the other hand, an effective description enhances your page in search results and potentially improves the number of clicks. See your meta description as your selling point. People only clicks on your page if the meta description looks like what they are looking for a solution to their question or need.

  1. Choose a Good Domain name

Though this would have been the first tip, we assumed you have created your site already before looking for ways to SEO your website. But in case you haven’t chosen a domain name that depicts your industry.

Few people think about it, but choosing a good domain name is important. The keywords contained inside are taken into account by the search engines.

Use a short and easy-to-remember domain name that includes the most important keywords (up to 3). Though this particular tip is less used by googling this day as a ranking signal every little thing you do helps you’re ranking.

Though we understand the other side this was you can choose a name that is not even related to the niche you are writing content in and build the name as a personal brand which the present-day Google ranking signal.

  1. Use your keyword in your Images

The robots are unable to see the images. They use the name of the images and the alt tag to reference them, hence the importance of naming them in the most relevant way possible. The Alt tag is used to indicate alternative text for an image.

Fill it carefully, remember, the choice of keywords is very important. Preferably I would recommend you use your primary keyword as your Alt tag text. That way – Google will get to know more about what you’re writing about.

  1. Structure your pages

Robots do not interpret websites like you and us. It is sad, but not seeing the images, the robots attach great importance to the text present on your page. Structure it a bit like a table of contents.

By respecting this, your content will be hierarchical. Comprising different levels of importance. To indicate these different levels, use the Hn tag (H1, H2… H6). Example:

I would recommend sticking to H1 and H2 while structuring your pages. Use mostly H2 in all your sub-heading and H1 as your Title tag.

Pro tip: There can only be one H1 level per page.

  1. Do keywords research

Choosing the “right” keywords is not easy, but let’s remember two concepts that the keywords must answer: what the searchers are looking for often

  • Interest

They must be frequently typed by search engine users.

  • The feasibility

Avoid keywords with strong competition if you want your keywords to position themselves in the first results of the engines within acceptable deadlines.

My advice would be to go for the less competitive keywords first when your domain authority and traffic start growing as well as a little ranking on the first position and top ten pages. Then move on to medium or normal competitive keywords and finally to high competitive keywords.

To do these several tools exist:

  • The “keyword generators”.
  • The results on the search engines.
  • Related Searches.
  • The audit of the competition.
  1. Go for Links: Less quantity, more quality

There are 3 different types of links: internal, outgoing and incoming. Each one of them is pampering. No need to have a phenomenal number. Google and others favor the qualitative link. So worry about the origin of your backlinks and the destination of your external links.

To have an effective backlink, work the anchor of the link. The keywords present in the anchor are taken into account by Google. Having several anchors with different targets allows you to widen your fields of action.

It is also important not to systematically return to the home page, but rather to deep pages.

The don’ts of Links:

  • Automatic registration in directories
  • Have more images than text
  • Have as anchor link “click here”
  • Buy and/or sell links
  • Put hidden text
  • Duplicate content (mirror site)
  • Misuse 301 (double redirection)
  • Overload the Keyword tag
  1. Indexing

Tell robots using a text file (named robots.txt) which pages you want to index or not. Create a Sitemap: The Sitemap helps index a site because it ensures that all pages are accessible by robots. Use unique phrases: Submit unique content.

Avoid copying/pasting content. If the text on your site already exists on another site, it will not be taken into account to improve your positioning.

Over To You

The list you see above is not all there is to SEO website your pages but it’s the primary checklist you do need to start ranking on search engines.
