Twitter Video ad Specs For Different Ad Cards/Format

   1. Plain Text Tweet

  • Firstly, Total tweet copy: 280 characters
  • Lastly, Tweet copy: 256 characters.

Tips; each link used in the tweet reduces the count by 24 characters and you are left with only 256 characters.

     2. Image Website Card

  • Firstly, Tweet copy: 280 characters.
  • Web title length: 70 characters.
  • Image Used: 800 x 418 pixels for 1.91:1 aspect ratio and 800 x 800 pixels for 1:1 aspect ratio.
  • Image size: 3MB at maximum.
  • Finally, Recommended image format: PNG and JPEG ( not accepting BMP or TIFF format).

Tips; 24 characters are used for images, also the 1×1 image aspect ratio is not available to self-serve advertisers at the moment.

     3. Image App Card

  • Firstly,  Tweet copy: 280 characters.
  • Aspect ratio: 800 x 800 pixels for 1:1 aspect ratio or 800 x 418 pixels for 1.91:1 aspect ratio.
  • Recommended Image formats: PNG and JPEG.
  • Image size: 3MB at maximum.
  • Title/price: can be Pulled from an app store.
  • Lastly, CTA options: Install (default if an app is not installed), Open (default if an app is installed), Play, Shop, Book, Connect, and Order.

     4. Multi-image Tweets

Mobile

  • Firstly, Tweet copy: 280 characters.
  • Image width/height: Minimum 600 X 335 pixels
  • Also, Aspect ratio: 7:8 for two images tweet, 2:1 for four images, and for three images tweet, there will be one 7:8 aspect ratio image on the left, with two 4:7 aspect ratio images on the right side.
  • Image size: 3MB at maximum on twitter.com and 1048kb at maximum on ads.twitter.com.
  • Lastly, Image format: PNG or JPEG.

Desktop

  • Firstly, Tweet copy: 280 characters.
  • Image width/height: minimum 600 X 600 pixel images.
  • Aspect ratio: Multi-image Tweets will always be cropped to a square (1:1 aspect ratio). Two images lay side by side horizontally. For three images, one large square image on the left, with two square images running up the right side of the image. For four images, one large square image on the left and three smaller square images along the side.
  • Image size: 3MB at maximum on twitter.com and 1048KB at maximum on ads.twitter.com.
  • Lastly, Image format: PNG or JPEG

       5. Video App Cards

  • Firstly, Tweet copy: 280 characters (Ads Manager allows only 256 characters. 24 characters are used for images).
  • Video aspect ratio: 16×9 and 1×1.
  • Nextly, Web title length: 70 characters.
  • Also, Description: 200 characters.
  • Video size: 1GB t maximum.
  • Recommended video types: MP4 or MOV.
  • Playtime: 2 minutes and 20 seconds. (Select advertisers are eligible to request an increase up to 10 minutes. Please contact your Twitter Account Manager for more information.)
  • Recommended video codec: H264, Baseline, Main, or High profile with a 4:2:0 color space. Twitter ad Specs.
  • Recommended frame rate: 29.97FPS or 30FPS. Higher is acceptable.
  • Recommended video bitrate: 6,000–10,000k (recommended 6,000k) for 1080p. 5,000k — 8,000k (recommended 5,000k) for 720p).
  • Finally, Recommended audio codec: AAC LC (low complexity).

     6. Video Website Cards

  • Tweet copy: 280 characters.
  • Web title length: (under video): 70 characters (less than 50 recommended).
  • Recommended video types: MP4 or MOV.
  • Video Aspect Ratio: 16×9 or 1×1.
  • URL: Must begin with http:// or https://.
  • Video size: 1GB at maximum.
  • Video Codec: H264, baseline, 4:2:0 color space
  • Frame rate: 29.97FPS or 30FPS
  • Video bitrate: 6,000K — 10,000K for 1080P and 5,000K — 8,000K for 720P

     7. Conversational Ads

  • Firstly, Tweet copy: 256 characters (24 characters are used for the Conversational Card).
  • Hashtag: 21 characters.
  • Pre-populated user Tweet: 256 characters.
  • Headline: 23 characters.
  • Lastly, Thank you text: 23 characters.
  • Thank you URL (optional): 23 characters.
  • Also, Video (if used): Same specifications as in the “Promoted video” format in 16:9 aspect ratio.
  • Image Specs (if used): File size: 3 MB, Aspect ratio: 5:2, Image width / height: 800 X 320PX.
  • Finally, Image formats: JPEG, PNG, non-animated GIFs.

     8. Direct Message Card

  • Firstly, Tweet copy: 256 characters (24 characters are used for the card).
  • CTA button text: 24 characters. (Emoji supported).
  • Also, Image specs (if used): File size: 3 MB, Aspect ratio: 5:2 or 1.91:1. Minimum image width: 800 pixels.
  • Also, Image formats: JPEG, PNG, animated GIFs not supported.
  • Finally, Video specs (if used): Same specifications as in the “Promoted video” format in 16:9 aspect ratio.

    9. Single Image Tweet and GIFs

Mobile

  • Firstly, Tweet copy: 280 characters.
  • Image width/height: Minimum 600 X 335 pixels, although larger images (for example 1200 X 675) will be better optimized for when users click to expand images.
  • Aspect ratio: 16:9.
  • Also, Recommended Image size: Max 15MB on twitter.com and 3MB on ads.twitter.com.
  • Finally, Image Format: PNG, JPEG, or GIF are recommended. BMP or TIFF files not accepted.

Desktop

  • Firstly, Tweet copy: 280 characters.
  • Image width/height: We recommend a minimum width of 600 pixels, it can be larger images.
  • Aspect ratio: Between 2:1 and 1:1.
  • Also, Recommended Image size: A maximum of 15MB on twitter.com and 3MB on ads.twitter.com.
  • Finally, Image format: PNG, JPEG, or GIF are recommended. We do not accept BMP or TIFF files.
