What Does EUC mean on eBay?

What Does EUC Stand For?

EUC on eBay stands for Excellent Used Condition. It is used to know the condition of the item you want to purchase. Actually, when you’re filtering searches for an item’s condition, there are many options. They include “new with tags,” “new without tags,” “new with defects,” “pre-owned” and “not specified.” When you see the option “pre-owned”, you’ll see used items in varying conditions. “EUC” is one of them and it means Excellent Used Condition.

What Does EUC Mean?

EUC is used to describe the sliding scale recommended by eBay for listing items. The excellent used condition means that the product has been used about once or twice but is still like new. Further, good used condition (GUC) means it has been used severally, but it shows minimal signs of wear. The very used condition means an item has been used a lot. This last one is not your best option at all.

How to verify an Item’s Condition

The best way to do this verification is to carefully read the item’s description and look closely at photos. However, don’t forget that sellers usually take the best photos possible of the item like shooting it in perfect light. Some even filter, retouch and edit the picture to make an item look newer than it is.  Always pay closer attention to the description instead of the image.

Verifying Condition

Apart from reading the description and carefully viewing the images. Check out the seller’s rating on eBay. To do this, click on the link by their username. A seller who routinely misrepresents items as EUC when they’re GUC or worse has bad reviews from past purchasers. Read their reviews carefully.

What if I Have Further Questions?

To do this, directly message a seller on eBay. Start by clicking on “Contact Seller” from the seller information section at the top of the page.
