Google Tez app now known as Google Pay on the AppStore was renamed in August 2018.
The Tez app is a payment platform application that runs on UPI(Unified Payments Interface) which allows you to make monetary transactions digitally from your mobile device to anyone, anywhere at an amazingly safe and fast rate.
The Google Tez app was released officially on 29th September 2019 and is supported by most android and IOS devices. since its release, there have been millions of downloads and transactions done on the app.
Most online digital payment platform uses the wallet system by transferring the money from your bank account to your wallet on the app and then using the money in that wallet to make transactions.
Google claims that the Tez app allows you to transfer money directly from your bank account to the recipient’s account thereby removing the wallet system that other digital payment services operate on.
How To Get Started With Google Tez App
- The Google Tez app can be installed on your smartphone by directly downloading it from the google play store or the ios App store.
- After installation, open the app follow the on-screen instructions; first is to select your preferred language and enter your mobile number that is linked with your bank account.
Linking Your Bank Account
The Tez app allows you to select the option of keeping your money in its wallet or you can simply add your bank account details and link it with the app.
Once your bank account is linked successfully, it serves as a medium to transfer money from your bank to another bank account with ease.
Also, if the recipient of the money also uses the Tez app, all you need to do is use the mobile number he registered Tez with to carry on the transaction.
Transactions on the app can be done using the mobile number, bank account number, scanning QR code, or using UPI ID.

Google Tez App Download
Like we did already said – the App was renamed in App Store to Google Play, so to download it on Appstore you will need to do that using the new name.
Follow the below instructions to download the App on both Google Play Store and other App Stores:

- Locate the App using the search bar.
- When you have done that – tap on the App name (Remember it’s now called Google Pay).
- Wait for the installation process to finish and launch the App.
